Foundation Repair

  • Minor Wall Cracking
  • Gorilla Wall Braces
  • The Carbon Hold System
  • Wall Replacement

Unfortunately, all concrete eventually cracks, however, not all cracks are a sign of structural problems. The reason for this is that shrinkage occurs during the curing process. A foundation expert can help you decide whether your cracks are only "cosmetic" (nonstructural) or whether there are bigger issues (structural). If the problem is only on the surface, it can be solved with using adding an epoxy, which is can help repair the damage and which can hold even stronger than concrete.

How Walls are Made Secure

Bulging wall repair begins by fastening the floor bracket with heavy duty screw anchors to the basement floor, then attaching the pushing rod bracket to the floor joist every 4 ft. to properly do the wall bracing job. The tube bracket holders are attached to the two neighboring floor joist, utilizing 3 floor joists, giving additional pushing power in the home foundation repair.

The basement wall repair is made to push the buckling wall back, when the pushing rod applies pressure to the wall brace. Applying continued pressure on the buckled wall, over a period of time, the bulging wall will be moved back. In cases of severe bowing wall damage, foundation repair can be made to the basement walls by installing the wall bracing and running a 6 inch trenching machine or a narrow back hoe outside of the moving wall. This allows the buckling walls to be pushed back by the installed wall braces and the bowing wall will be straightened the same day.

The Carbon Hold System is permananent and guaranteed to work. It is a solution that can fix cracked walls and bowed foundation walls with the most minimal effect on the look of your basement. At ten times the strength of steel, it can not only be used to repair bowing walls, but also cracks in a basement.
This system can be applied to almost any concrete wall. In cases where wall movement is a concern, the Carbon Hold system will structurally isolate any movement in the wall so that the crack will not move and reopen a new leak. Once it is applied, the crack repair system can easily be painted over.

When a system like this is installed, it is vitally important that the fibers are securely bonded to the wall. The Carbon Hold system is a 12" wide mesh that has a substantial surface area to bond to the foundation wall.  This makes a stronger bond than almost any other system and lessons the potential of the epoxy bond being pulled off.  Guaranteed!

The Carbon Hold crack repair method seals, strengthens, and stablizes leaking cracks. It provided structural integrity to the crack, giving homeowners the peace of mind that the crack will not leak due to wall movement.

Advantages to Carbon Hold

  • Cost Effective
  • Less disruptive than other methods
  • Mesh is fully encapsulated in epoxy
  • Incredibly strong

Some walls with extreme structural damage will continue to bow, shear, and crack, and in some cases, the only way to repair the problem is to completely remove and rebuild the foundation wall.

This process can be a big one. It begins in your yard. The foundation is excavated, the yard around your foundation and surrounding landscaping must be removed.  This includes steps, gardens, walkways, foliage, and anything else along the foundation.  Then the foundation will be excavated, with the removed soil being laid in mounds around the house.  Temporary supports will be put in place as the foundation walls are removed and replaced.  When the job is completed, the landscaping and dirt can be returned.  A year later, this soil will settle and must be regraded.

Again, this is sometimes the only thing that can be done for a failing foundation. However simply replacing the wall might not be enough. It maybe necessarily to address the problem that caused the bowing in the first place.

This is where Cornerstone Basement Solutions can really help. Not only can we replace the wall, but we can also prevent future problems by using our preventative measures to ensure that your wall will not bow again. Guaranteed! Your basement will not only be as good as before, but actually better!
